Initially, I suppose this blog is a sort of documentation of a change in progress.
The last decade I’ve spent most of my time behind a computer and in my garden and lately I’ve needed to break free from my seclusion to basically just get back out there and see…
I am equipped with a bicycle, my trusty Gazelle Touche, and a fairly simple yet versatile camera which I bought initially as a tool for making art to accompany music that I produce….otherwise I’d have to use images others have made…yet what actually happened was I got more and more into photography, mostly practicing within my garden…a macro lens transformed my small garden into a spacious natural studio to be explored…
Currently I’m venturing back out “Into the Wild” ….into the heart of Middle Friesland to rediscover my love of nature…birds, mammals, insects and plants being my main focus as well as capturing the landscapes in which they live…

A kindred spirit, this reminds me of riding around Austin and Town Lake (the Colorado River), many years ago. Looks the same, minus the big city of course. Really like your bike! So excited to see your work here again! Friesland! (she does the quiet dance of joy!)

The lighting, the riderless bicycle against the water backdrop give me – the viewer – a dream of possibilities. I can mount that bike and peddle wherever my heart desires.

A lowly peasant from Texas has a request… Are those allowed? I am in process of writing a particular piece that requires a particularly good macro pic of a black beetle. Most any sort will do.
